Garden Hideaway Bed and Breakfast (B and B) is in Damerham near
Fordingbridge, on the edge of the New Forest National
Park.
Our two hideaways stand at the end of the garden, each with its
own decking area overlooking the lawn, trout lake and pond.
This idyllic & peaceful rural location is ideal for winding down
and watching the wildlife.

hideaway has a double bed, en-suite shower room and
comfortable seating. They are furnished with a homely mix of
soft checks and vintage florals.
Damerham
village is an area of outstanding natural beauty on the edge
of the New Forest and a short distance from the riverside
town of Fordingbridge, which has a variety of shops, pubs
and restaurants.

The New Forest National Park
The wild open heathlands and woods of the New Forest are just
a few minutes drive east. This side of the forest is excellent for walking
and watching the wildlife.
There are options for all abilities - from a half hour stroll to a full days
hike.
There are also many excellent pubs serving great food which can be
incorporated into your route. See here for some ideas

Martin Down National Nature Reserve
A couple of miles north west of our Hideaway B and B's is Martin
Down NNR.
An area of lowland grassland covering 342 hectares,
the reserve is home to an exceptional collection of plants and animals associated with chalk downland and scrub habitats. These include a number of rare and threatened species.
This is a wonderful area for walkers, artists, nature
lovers and photographers. Why not take a
picnic and spend a day exploring and taking in the
views?

Notable plants found in the area include bastard toadflax, field fleawort, early gentian and lesser centaury.
Twelve orchid species have also been identified, including burnt-tip, green-winged, greater butterfly and frog. |

Five bat species
have been recorded in the area: noctule, serotine, brown long-eared, common and soprano pipistrelle; and brown hare is found throughout the site.
Birds found at Martin Down include turtledove, grey partridge, nightingale, skylark, yellowhammer and linnet.
Occasionally hobby, quail, Montagu’s harrier and stone-curlew sometimes visit the site.
Butterflies include varieties of skipper, blue and fritillary. |
